Counseling
Welcome!
Working with me may be a good fit if…
you are stuck in self-defeating tendencies, such as perfectionism, people-pleasing, lack of self-esteem, and communication/boundary issues.
you are going through, or have recently gone through, a major life transition (e.g. change in relationship status, graduation, move, having children, etc.)
you are struggling with self-acceptance and/or integrating parts of yourself (e.g. sexual orientation, gender identity).
you are experiencing painful memories related to trauma, grief, or loss.
you want a supportive place to process, heal, and learn about yourself.

“The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.” - Carl Rogers
Finding Strength in Imperfection
Originating in Japan, Kintsugi is the craft of restoring broken pottery using golden lacquer. The result is often considered beautiful, not despite having been broken, but because of it. This sheds a new light on the brokenness and imperfections we all face as humans. We often assume that we are flawed or “less than” because of painful experiences, when in fact, the opposite is true. We are shaped even more beautifully because of what we have been through. I consider the process of therapy to be a golden lacquer laid upon emotional scars where our strength and beauty often arise from the same source as our wounds. It is a process of reclaiming pieces of ourselves and recognizing our inherent wholeness.
